All the big names in Bulgarian jazz and ethno music had the pleasure of going out on stage with the Big Band of the Bulgarian National Radio. They record music for the BNR fund - created or arranged specifically for the band compositions (both instrumental and vocal), jazz standards, various projects involving not only jazz, but also ethno music, funk, pop.

Antoni Donchev is a Bulgarian composer and pianist. In 1985, together with Hristo Yotsov, they created an "Acoustic version", which became a leading jazz formation. The two have won a number of awards, including First Prize in Oelaart, Belgium (1985) and the Grand Award in Leverkusen, Germany (1986). In 1986 he was included in the ranking of Europe's reliable young jazz musicians. During the 1987-1989 periods, he teaches in the Sofia’s Musical Academy. 

Since 2011 he has been the director of the Bulgarian National Radio’ Big Band. Under his direction, the big band has worked with a number of world musicians, including Joe Lovano, Kurt Eling, Tom Harrell, Christian Elsesser and others.
